وجه الأمير فإنه بشرُ

Do not marvel at a fit of boredom that turned away

Do not be surprised at the glance of one who has turned

The prince’s face, for he is human.

The face of the prince away, for he is but human,

وإذا نبا بك في سريرته

وإذا نبا بك في سريرته

عقد الضمير نبا بك البصرُ

عقد الضمير نبا بك البصرُ

And if, in his innermost self, you are shunned by

And if he rejects you in his innermost thoughts,

His heart’s resolve, his gaze will shun you.

The eye's perception still tells of you.
