يتشكي القضيب منه الكثيبا

He visited me, fearing the watcher, full of unease;

The suspicious guard paid me a fearful visit

the bough in him complains of the sand dune.

Complaining of the arousal his thighs emit

رشا راش لي سهام المنايا

من جفون يُصمي بهن القلوبا

A gazelle fawn who fletched death's arrows for me

He shot arrows of doom from his sleepy eyes

from eyelids with which he strikes hearts dead.

That pierce hearts and leave them mute

قال لي ما ترى الرقيب مُطلا

قال لي ما ترى الرقيب مُطلا

قلت ذره أتى الجناب الرحيبا

قلت ذره أتى الجناب الرحيبا

He said to me, 'Don't you see the watcher peering in?'

I said, let the guard be, pleasure has arrived

I said, 'Leave him; he has reached a spacious abode.

He said give him wine to drink from your hand

عاطه أكؤس المدام دراكا

عاطه أكؤس المدام دراكا

وأدرها عليه كوبا فكوبا

وأدرها عليه كوبا فكوبا

Offer him cups of wine in quick succession,

Serve him cup after cup until he's deprived

and pass it to him, cup after cup.

Then offer your mouth, make it his cup's stand

وأسقنيها بخمر عينيك صرفاً

وأسقنيها بخمر عينيك صرفاً

واجعل الكأس منك ثغراً شنيبا

واجعل الكأس منك ثغراً شنيبا

And give it to me with the unmixed wine of your eyes,

Once he falls into deep slumber

and make the cup your cool, sweet mouth.'

Responding obediently to each beck and call

ثم لما أن نام من نتقيه

وتلقى الكرى سميعاً مجيبا

Then, when the one we guarded against fell asleep

I said we must go to him, delay no longer

and welcomed slumber, hearing and answering its call,

He said take me now, there is no time to stall

قال لا بد أن تدب اليه

قلت أبغي رشا وآخذ ذيبا

قلت أبغي رشا وآخذ ذيبا

he said, 'You must creep over to him.'

He said compliment him first, then make your move

I said, 'I seek a gazelle fawn, yet take a wolf?'

I said no, the moment has arrived, let's prove

قال فابدأ بنا وثن عليه

قلت كلا لقد دفعت قريبا

قلت كلا لقد دفعت قريبا

He said, 'Then begin with us, and turn to him next.'

Our passion as we leap upon our gazelle

I said, 'Nay—you have urged one already close at hand.'

Approaching the guard passionately as well

فوثبنا على الغزال ركوباً

فوثبنا على الغزال ركوباً

ودببنا إلى الرقيب دبيبا

ودببنا إلى الرقيب دبيبا

So we sprang upon the gazelle, mounting him,

Did you hear the lover's bliss, the guard's rebute?

and crept stealthily toward the watcher.

One found his beloved, one met his refute

فهل أبصرت أو سمعت بصب

فهل أبصرت أو سمعت بصب

ناك محبوبه وناك الرقيبا

ناك محبوبه وناك الرقيبا

So have you seen or heard of a lovesick lover

who fucked his beloved and fucked the watcher?
