أَمّا الإِمامُ فَقَد وَفى بِمَقالِهِ

أَمّا الإِمامُ فَقَد وَفى بِمَقالِهِ

صَلّى الإِلَهُ عَلى الإِمامِ وَآلِهِ

صَلّى الإِلَهُ عَلى الإِمامِ وَآلِهِ

As for the Imam, he has kept his word.

The imam fulfilled his word,

May God bless the Imam and his family.

May God bless the imam and his progeny.

لُذنا بِجانِبِهِ فَعَمَّ بِفَضلِهِ

لُذنا بِجانِبِهِ فَعَمَّ بِفَضلِهِ

وَبِبَذلِهِ وَبِعَفوِهِ وَبِمالِهِ

وَبِبَذلِهِ وَبِعَفوِهِ وَبِمالِهِ

We sought refuge at his side; he encompassed all with his bounty,

We took shelter by his side, so he spread his grace,

And with his largesse, his pardon, and his wealth.

His generosity, pardon, and wealth upon us.

لا خَلقَ أَكرَمُ مِن مَعَدٍّ شِيمَةً

لا خَلقَ أَكرَمُ مِن مَعَدٍّ شِيمَةً

مَحمُودَةً في قَولِهِ وَفَعالِهِ

مَحمُودَةً في قَولِهِ وَفَعالِهِ

No creature is nobler than Maʿadd in character,

No being of finer nature exists than Ma'add,

Praiseworthy in his speech and deeds.

Whose word and deed are praiseworthy.

فاقصُد أَمِيرَ المُؤمِنينَ فَما تَرى

فاقصُد أَمِيرَ المُؤمِنينَ فَما تَرى

بُؤساً وَأَنتَ مُظَلَّلٌ بِظِلالِهِ

بُؤساً وَأَنتَ مُظَلَّلٌ بِظِلالِهِ

So seek the Commander of the Faithful, for you will see no

Seek the Commander of the Faithful, for you will not see,

Misery while you are sheltered beneath his shade.

Any distress while shaded by his protection.

زادَ الإِمامُ عَلى البُحورِ بِفَضلِهِ

زادَ الإِمامُ عَلى البُحورِ بِفَضلِهِ

وَعلى البُدورِ بِحُسنِهِ وَجَمالِهِ

وَعلى البُدورِ بِحُسنِهِ وَجَمالِهِ

The Imam surpassed the seas in bounty,

The imam surpassed the seas with his grace,

And the full moons in loveliness and beauty.

And the full moons with his beauty and perfection.

وَعَلا سَريرَ المُلكِ مِن آلِ الهُدى

وَعَلا سَريرَ المُلكِ مِن آلِ الهُدى

مَن لا تَمُرُّ الفاحِشات بِبالِهِ

مَن لا تَمُرُّ الفاحِشات بِبالِهِ

And to the royal throne, from the house of guidance, rose

He ascended the throne of the caliphate from the House of Guidance,

One whose mind no shameful deeds ever cross.

One who is not tainted by indecent thoughts.

النَصرُ وَالتَأيِيدُ في أَعلامِهِ

النَصرُ وَالتَأيِيدُ في أَعلامِهِ

وَمَكارِمُ الأَخلاقِ في سِربالِهِ

وَمَكارِمُ الأَخلاقِ في سِربالِهِ

Victory and support are in his banners,

Victory and support are in his banners,

And nobility of character is in his robe.

And noble traits are in his attire.

مُستَنصِرٌ بِاللَهِ ضاقَ زَمانُهُ

مُستَنصِرٌ بِاللَهِ ضاقَ زَمانُهُ

عَن شِبهِهِ وَنَظيرِهِ وَمِثالِهِ

عَن شِبهِهِ وَنَظيرِهِ وَمِثالِهِ

Mustanṣir bi-llāh—his age has no room

Seeking God's help, his era was too confining

For his like, his peer, or his equal.

For one of his likeness, peer, or equal.
