اللَهُ أعطاكِ فَتحاً غير مشتركِ
وردand turned عَزمكَyour resolve عنfrom فَوتٍfailure to attain إلىto دركِattainment
ورد عَزمكَ عن فَوتٍ إلى دركِ
God has granted you a victory shared by none,
God has granted you unmatched victory
and turned your resolve from failure to attainment.
And turned your resolve from loss to attainment

Release the rein of the steed you are riding,
Release the reins of a steed you ride
and fold your hands, leaving it in the Sovereign's hand,
And hold its hand, leaving it to the King

Until it leads to the best outcome confidently
A guide who never misleads guides your path.
A guide shows you the way, not failing you

After your departure, the enemies held a kingdom,
After you, the enemies had a kingdom
until heaven's sphere wheeled round against them.
Until the sphere of heaven turned against them

The sleek steeds bore you—or space itself flew with them—
The horsemen marched with you or the sky carried them
while doom had bound the enemies in a snare.
And now the enemies are bound in a net

ولا تركتَ نجيعاً غَيرَ منسفِكِ
You left no armored warrior unthrown into the dust,
You left no tribe unalarmed
nor any fresh blood unspilled.
Nor any settlement you did not vanquish

أَسرى إذا فرصة من السلك
They slept, but the wronged man did not sleep in his rage;
They slept but no sleepy one out of spite
he traveled by night, when a chance came from the thread [wording unclear].
Prisoners when there was a chance to escape

والصُبحُ من عَبَراتِ الفَجرِ في مُسَك
Then God's troops attacked them at dawn, striking fiercely,
So you made them God's attacking soldiers in the morning
while morning wore bracelets of dawn's tears.
And the dawn overflowed with the tears of daybreak

Of every man rushing forth like a plunging star,
From every audacious one like a dejected star
their souls overflow with fury at restraint.
Their souls overflow with rage from torment

They thrust at you with spears, but the spears did not pierce,
So they wounded you with spears but you were not wounded
and struck at you with swords, but the swords did not cut.
And struck you with swords but they did not scratch

Slaughter came upon them before its season,
Slaughter came upon them prematurely
and every worshipper offered sacrificial victims from among them.
And the sacrifice was offered, every worshipper

So the birds lingered, and the wild beasts stood still;
The birds gathered and the beasts halted
the men's flesh had weighed them down so they could not move.
Weighed down by the enemies' meat, unable to move

They fell upon every insolent aggressor among them,
It came upon every troublemaker among them
ravaging wide throats and palates.
Putrid in a wide throat and palate

Eat in delight and health, and thank a king
You are all congratulated, splendid, thank the King
whose swords have fed you as guests in every battlefield.
Whose swords brought you rest in every clash

Had the heads, when scattered, been stacked
If the skulls were piled when they were scattered
on the plain, they would have raised the lowlands to the hillocks.
The valleys would meet the dunes

Keep going and seek its vanished past for the rest of time
for the day of Badr established the spoils in Fadak.
For the day of Badr established spoils in Fadak

In Maqat, with lance tips entangled

With the stricken, collapsed dead, joined in death
wrapped in bright swords, interwoven with brown spears.
In white, clad in armor, intertwined in red

Orihuela—trampled grounds, down to the streets.

And how much, over Habr Mahmud and its neighbor,
And how much bitterness for Mahmud and his neighbors
bitter bereavement the Romans have suffered, never to be set aside!
The Romans suffered from unremitting torment

سموتَ تطلبُ نصر اللَه بالدركِ
You kept faith with the yellow ones until it was said, 'They have betrayed.'
You performed your duty until it was said they betrayed
You rose high, seeking God's aid through pursuit.
You sought God's victory by attainment

So you handed them over to Islam—'you betrayed' [wording unclear].
So you submitted them to Islam after their betrayal
And the sword removed the hardship afflicting the faith.
And the sword took what was indecent in religion

O king, whose resolve rises high
O supreme King in his determination
toward God's pleasure, may you never lack the King's favor.
To please God, do not neglect to satisfy the King

You have kept bringing him glad tidings and showing him
Good tidings continually reach you and
another, like pearls strung upon necks.
Others of distress to the charging steeds

والأَرضُ من ظُلمَةِ الإِلحاد في حَلكِ
Through it you have whitened the face of the Commander of the Faithful,
With them you brightened the face of the Commander of the Faithful
while the earth lay in deep gloom from the darkness of unbelief.
And the land was rid of the darkness of disbelief

So he clothed himself in victory, and his pulpits trembled
So victory was felt and his pulpits shook
at the mention of a gallant man who utterly subdued the unbelievers.
With mention of the most wondrous disgrace for the infidels

Thus obedience to him has made you and whoever allies with you immortal,
You made him and those loyal to him eternally
with the immortality of a righteous man holding fast to reverence for God.
Enduring in righteous, God-fearing devotion

You arrived, and the rain, urged on, had wept for joy
You came and the rain shouted with joy
when you triumphed—and how often laughter has made one weep!
When you were victorious - how much it wept with laughter

And God perfected the goodness you had begun
And God completed the good you began
with all that poured forth from Him and all that was cast.
In every downpour from Him and every shower

That turn its sky green with beauty

So return, lead, act with resolve, give praise, rule, and annihilate;
So return and lead and rely and thank and bar
and speak, keep ties, tower above, seize control, and violate.
And say and connect and aspire and conquer and tear down
