مُعَّذبا صَبّآ بتعذيبه

مُعَّذبا صَبّآ بتعذيبه

The name of him through whom my heart has become

tormented, enamored of the torment he inflicts—

إن صَيَّروا أوَّلَهُ ثانيا

غدا اسمُهُ بعضَ صفاتي به

غدا اسمُهُ بعضَ صفاتي به

if they make its first letter second,

his name becomes one of my qualities in relation to him.
