  1. وكنتُ عزيزاً لو عصيتُ خَلاعتي

    وبِتُّ كنصح العاذلات مُطيعا

    And I would have been honored, had I defied my wantonness,

    and spent the night obedient, in keeping with the reproaching women’s counsel.

  2. بحقكم لا تهجروني فإنني

    أمَلتُ اليكم جانبيَّ جميعا

    For your sake, do not forsake me, for I

    have inclined both my sides entirely toward you.
