أَو كُنتَ مِن فَرعٍ نَأى وَمَجُد

أَو كُنتَ مِن فَرعٍ نَأى وَمَجُد

If you are of my stock and of my clan,

Or if you are of a branch far removed and noble,

بَلِّغ سَلامَ فَمي يَدَي مَلِكٍ

بَلِّغ سَلامَ فَمي يَدَي مَلِكٍ

غابَ المُلوكُ عَنِ العُلا وَشَهد

غابَ المُلوكُ عَنِ العُلا وَشَهد

Convey my mouth’s greeting to the hands of a king:

The kings were absent from the heights of glory, while he was present.
