أحاطت جنودُ الأرض بابن سَوادةً

أحاطت جنودُ الأرض بابن سَوادةً

وعاجلَهُ الحتْفُ المُتاحُ أشائِمُه

وعاجلَهُ الحتْفُ المُتاحُ أشائِمُه

The armies of the earth surrounded Ibn Sawada.

The soldiers of the earth surrounded the son of Sawada

And death swiftly overtook him, its ill omens ordained.

And death which reveals its omens hastened to him

ووافاهُ خَطْبٌ لا ينادي وليدُه

ووافاهُ خَطْبٌ لا ينادي وليدُه

وعاداهُ ليثٌ لا تُرَدُّ عزائمُه

وعاداهُ ليثٌ لا تُرَدُّ عزائمُه

And a calamity befell him whose child does not call out.

And he was met by a fate which does not call out its child

And a lion became his enemy, whose resolves cannot be thwarted.

And a lion opposed him whose determination cannot be thwarted
