بحرٌ يسيرُ على بحرٍ بجاريةٍ
للبحرِof the sea حاملةٍa bearer بالبحرِby the sea تُحتَملُshe is borne
للبحرِ حاملةٍ بالبحرِ تُحتَملُ
A sea travels upon a sea aboard a ship,
bearing the sea, herself borne by the sea.
كأنهاas though she were جبلٌa mountain فيin الماءthe water منتقلٌmoving
كأنها جبلٌ في الماء منتقلٌ
ياO مَنyou who رأىhave seen جبلاًa mountain فيin الماءِthe water يَنْتقِلُmoves
يا مَن رأى جبلاً في الماءِ يَنْتقِلُ
She is like a mountain moving through the water—
O you who have seen a mountain moving through the water!
تحكيshe resembles العروسَthe bride تَهادَىwalking gracefully فيin تَأوُّدِهاher swaying
تحكي العروسَ تَهادَى في تَأوُّدِها
وقدand already أطافَتْhave gathered بهاaround her الدّاياتُthe nurses والخَوَلُand the servants
وقد أطافَتْ بها الدّاياتُ والخَوَلُ
She resembles a bride, gliding along with a gentle sway,
with nurses and servants gathered around her.
