ما يَحفَظِ اللَهُ يَصُن

ما يَحفَظِ اللَهُ يَصُن

ما يَصنَعِ اللَهُ يَهُن

ما يَصنَعِ اللَهُ يَهُن

Whatever God guards, He safeguards.

What Allah preserves is protected

Whatever God does becomes easy.

What Allah makes is weakened

مَن يُسعِدِ اللَهُ يَلِن

مَن يُسعِدِ اللَهُ يَلِن

لَهُ الزَمانُ إِن خَشُن

لَهُ الزَمانُ إِن خَشُن

Whomever God favors, time grows gentle

Who Allah makes happy is softened

for him, even if it is harsh.

Time is for him even if harsh

أَخي اِعتَبِر لا تَغتَرِر

أَخي اِعتَبِر لا تَغتَرِر

كَيفَ تَرى صَرفَ الزَمَن

كَيفَ تَرى صَرفَ الزَمَن

My brother, take heed; do not be deceived.

My brother, take heed, do not be fooled

How do you view the turns of time?

See how time turns

يُجزى بِما أوتي مَن

يُجزى بِما أوتي مَن

فعل قَبيحٍ أَو حَسَن

فعل قَبيحٍ أَو حَسَن

Recompensed with what he is given is whoever

One is rewarded for what he was given

has done evil or good.

Be it an ugly deed or good

أَفلَحَ عَبدٌ كُشِفَ ال

أَفلَحَ عَبدٌ كُشِفَ ال

غِطاءُ عَنهُ فَفَطن

غِطاءُ عَنهُ فَفَطن

A servant prospers when the

Successful is a servant whose

veil is lifted from him and he becomes aware.

Covering was removed and he understood

وَقَرَّ عَيناً مَن رَأى

وَقَرَّ عَيناً مَن رَأى

أَنَّ البَلاءَ في اللَسن

أَنَّ البَلاءَ في اللَسن

And glad of eye is the one who sees

And it pleased one who saw

that affliction lies in speech.

That trials are on tongues

فَمازَ مِن أَلفاظِهِ

فَمازَ مِن أَلفاظِهِ

في كُلِّ وَقتٍ وَوَزن

في كُلِّ وَقتٍ وَوَزن

So he sifts through his words

So he refrained from its words

at every moment, and weighs them.

At every time and rhythm

وَخافَ مِن لِسانِهِ

وَخافَ مِن لِسانِهِ

عَزباً حَديداً فَحَزن

عَزباً حَديداً فَحَزن

And he fears his tongue,

And feared from his tongue

wayward and sharp, and so he grieves.

Loose iron chains so he grieved

وَمَن يَكُ مُعتَصِماً

وَمَن يَكُ مُعتَصِماً

بِاللَهِ ذي العَرشِ فَلَن

بِاللَهِ ذي العَرشِ فَلَن

And whoever seeks protection

And whoever holds firm

in God, Lord of the Throne, shall not

To Allah, Lord of the Throne, so he will never

يَضُرُّهُ شَيءٌ وَمن

يَضُرُّهُ شَيءٌ وَمن

يَعدي عَلى اللَهِ وَمَن

يَعدي عَلى اللَهِ وَمَن

be harmed by anything. And who

Be harmed by anything and who

can assail God—and who?

Transgresses upon Allah and who

مَن يَأمَنِ اللَه يَخَف

مَن يَأمَنِ اللَه يَخَف

وَخائِفُ اللَهِ أَمن

وَخائِفُ اللَهِ أَمن

Whoever feels safe from God shall fear,

Who fears Allah is wary

while one who fears God is safe.

And Allah's fearful one is secured

وَما لِما يُثمِرُهُ ال

وَما لِما يُثمِرُهُ ال

خَوفُ مِنَ اللَهِ ثَمَن

خَوفُ مِنَ اللَهِ ثَمَن

And what is brought forth by

And the fear of Allah has no

the fear of God is beyond price.

Price for what it yields

يا عالِمَ السِرِّ كَما

يا عالِمَ السِرِّ كَما

يَعلَمُ حَقّاً ما عَلَن

يَعلَمُ حَقّاً ما عَلَن

O Knower of what is secret, just as

O Knower of secrets as

You truly know what is manifest,

You truly know what is private and public

صَلِّ عَلى جَدّي أَبي ال

صَلِّ عَلى جَدّي أَبي ال

قاسِمِ ذي النورِ المُبَن

قاسِمِ ذي النورِ المُبَن

send blessings upon my grandfather, Abu al-

Bless my grandfather, my father Al

Qasim, bearer of the manifest light,

Qasim, the evident light

أَكرَمُ مِن حَيٍّ وَمِن

أَكرَمُ مِن حَيٍّ وَمِن

لُفِّفَ مَيتاً في الكَفَن

لُفِّفَ مَيتاً في الكَفَن

nobler than anyone living, and than anyone

More generous than a living one and than

wrapped, dead, in the shroud.

One shrouded in a burial shroud

وَاِمنُن عَلَينا بِالرِضا

وَاِمنُن عَلَينا بِالرِضا

فَأَنتَ أَهلٌ لِلمِنَن

فَأَنتَ أَهلٌ لِلمِنَن

And favor us with Your approval,

And favor us with acceptance

for granting favors befits You.

For You are worthy of favors

وَاِعفِنا في دينِنا

وَاِعفِنا في دينِنا

مِن كُلِّ حُسرٍ وَغُبُن

مِن كُلِّ حُسرٍ وَغُبُن

And spare us, in our faith,

And pardon us in our religion

from all weariness and unfair loss.

From every disappointment and failing

ما خابَ مَن خابَ كَمَن

ما خابَ مَن خابَ كَمَن

يَوماً إِلى الدُنيا رَكَن

يَوماً إِلى الدُنيا رَكَن

None who has failed has failed like one

Not disappointed is he who disappointed

who once leaned upon this world.

A day towards worldly life leaned

طوبى لِعَبدٍ كُشِفَت

طوبى لِعَبدٍ كُشِفَت

عَنهُ غِياباتِ الوَسَن

عَنهُ غِياباتِ الوَسَن

Blessed is a servant freed

Good tidings to a servant whose

from the dark depths of drowsiness.

Seclusions were uncovered

وَالمَوعِدُ اللَه وَما

وَالمَوعِدُ اللَه وَما

يَقضي بِهِ اللَهُ مَكَن

يَقضي بِهِ اللَهُ مَكَن

And the appointed meeting is with God, and whatever

And the promise is Allah's and what

God decrees stands firm.

Allah decrees is established
