أَلا أَبلغ بني بكرٍ رسولا

فَقَد جدّ النفيرُ بعنقفيرِ

Hear! Convey a message to the sons of Bakr:

O messenger, convey to Bani Bakr

For the call to arms has grown urgent at ʿAnqafīr.

The battle cry resounds in ‘Unayfir

فَليتَ الجيشَ كلّهم فِداكُم

فَليتَ الجيشَ كلّهم فِداكُم

وَنَفسي وَالسرير وذا السريرِ

وَنَفسي وَالسرير وذا السريرِ

So would that the whole army were a ransom for you,

May the army sacrifice themselves for you

And my soul, and the throne, and the lord of the throne.

And my soul, bed, and this bed
