بِبرئك أضحت الدنيا تُسامى

بِبرئك أضحت الدنيا تُسامى

وأبدلت العبوس بالإبتسامِ

وأبدلت العبوس بالإبتسامِ

Through your recovery, the world has risen high,

With your innocence the world becomes lofty

And exchanged its frown for a smile.

And you replaced frowning with a smile

فأنت وُقِيتَ لم تخصص بسقْم

فأنت وُقِيتَ لم تخصص بسقْم

فقد عم السقامُ على الأنامِ

فقد عم السقامُ على الأنامِ

For you—may you be protected—were not singled out for sickness;

For you have been protected from illness

For sickness has spread over all humankind.

While sickness has spread among people

ومن يأمل الأقمارَ ليلاً

ومن يأمل الأقمارَ ليلاً

يجد في وجهها أثر السقامِ

يجد في وجهها أثر السقامِ

And whoever gazes at the moons by night

And whoever hopes for the moons at night

Finds on their faces a trace of sickness.

Will find in their faces traces of illness
