سقى اللهُ قبراً ضمّ أعظمَ ماجدٍ

سقى اللهُ قبراً ضمّ أعظمَ ماجدٍ

سحائبُ غفرانَ مواليةِ القطرِ

سحائبُ غفرانَ مواليةِ القطرِ

May God water a grave that holds a noble man's bones,

May God water a grave holding the greatest hero

With clouds of forgiveness, unceasing in their rain;

With clouds of forgiving rain

وأسكنهُ دار النعيم بقربهِ

وأسكنهُ دار النعيم بقربهِ

وألهمَ أهليهِ الجميلَ من الصبرِ

وألهمَ أهليهِ الجميلَ من الصبرِ

And may He lodge him in the abode of bliss, close to Him,

And house him in the home of bliss beside Him

And inspire his family with gracious patience.

And inspire his family with beautiful patience

فقد كان حُرًّا كاملاً قبل أن قضى

فقد كان حُرًّا كاملاً قبل أن قضى

كذا كل حرٍ كاملٍ ناقصُ العمرِ

كذا كل حرٍ كاملٍ ناقصُ العمرِ

For indeed, he was noble and accomplished before he died;

For he was fully free before he met his fate

Thus every noble, accomplished man is short-lived.

As is every free and perfect man, short of years
