حفظت لأصحاب العلوم شؤونهم

وقمت لأرباب الفضائل خادما

وقمت لأرباب الفضائل خادما

I safeguarded the affairs of scholars.

I have preserved for the learned their affairs,

And stood as a servant to the masters of virtue.

And stood as a servant to the virtuous.

فلي أن أباهي أو أنادي مؤرخا

فلي أن أباهي أو أنادي مؤرخا

بواجب آل الشرع أصبحت قائما

بواجب آل الشرع أصبحت قائما

So I may take pride, or call out, marking the date:

It is my right that I boast or call a chronicler,

I have come to fulfill my duty toward the people of sacred law.

To the duties of the law I have become dedicated.
