We are not at Hamt, nor Zim, nor Sawra,

but in a planted meadow of the Golan.

Each morning we are brought a pitcher and a songstress.

Indeed, the Hijaz is a nursling of hunger and misery.

We spent the night in the precinct of Jawwata, alarmed by

the sound of chickens and the sounds of bells.
