وَما اِهتَزَّ عَرشُ اللَهَ مِن مَوتِ هالِكٍ

وَما اِهتَزَّ عَرشُ اللَهَ مِن مَوتِ هالِكٍ

سَمِعنا بِهِ إِلّا لِسَعدٍ أَبي عَمرِ

سَمِعنا بِهِ إِلّا لِسَعدٍ أَبي عَمرِ

Never did God’s Throne tremble at the death of any mortal

And God’s Throne has never trembled at the death of anyone

of whom we had heard—except Saʿd, father of ʿAmr.

we have heard of, save for Sa‘d, Abu ‘Amr.
