Indeed, a people whose prophet has left them have come to grief.

And glad indeed are those to whom he journeys by night and morning.

He departed from a people, so their minds went astray,

And settled among a people with a renewed light.

Through him their Lord guided them after they had strayed,

And set them aright; whoever follows the truth is rightly guided.

And can a people's misguided ones, who acted foolishly

In blindness, equal guides led by one rightly guided?

Indeed, from him there descended upon the people of Yathrib

A caravan of guidance, alighting among them with one most fortunate:

A prophet who sees what the people around him do not see,

And recites the Book of God in every mosque.

And if one day he speaks of something unseen,

Then it is confirmed that day or in the forenoon of the next.

May Abu Bakr rejoice in his happy fortune

Through his companionship; whoever God favors prospers.
