He remained true to the Prophet's covenant and guidance—

his devoted disciple; words are weighed against deeds.

He held fast to his way and his path,

loyal to the ally of truth—and truth is most just.

He is the renowned horseman and the hero who

charges whenever a momentous battle-day comes.

When war bares her shank, he stokes her fire

with a gleaming sword, racing toward death as he strides proudly.

And surely a man whose mother was Safiyyah,

and who is of Asad's noble house, is exalted indeed.

He has close kinship with the Messenger of God,

and, from supporting Islam, deeply rooted glory.

How many a distress al-Zubayr himself dispelled

from the Chosen One—and God gives, and gives abundantly.

So none among them is his equal, nor was there one before him,

nor will there ever be, as long as Yadhbul endures.

Praise of you is better than the deeds of many men,

and your deeds, O son of the Hashimite woman, are better still.
