Chaste and dignified, never suspected of wrongdoing,

And she wakes hungry, having eaten no flesh of unsuspecting women.

A noble lady of a clan descended from Lu'ayy ibn Ghalib,

Noble in their endeavors, their glory never fading.

Refined—God has made her character virtuous,

And purified her of all fury and falsehood.

So if I have said what you have alleged,

Then may my fingertips never raise my voice toward me.

How, then, could I, when my love, as long as I live, and my support

Are for the family of God's Messenger, the adornment of assemblies?

His is a lofty rank above all people,

The stature of any would-be rival falls short of it.

For what has been said does not cling to me,

But it is the speech of a man who slanders me.
