غُلامٌ أَتاهُ اللُؤمُ مِن شَطرِ خالِهِ

لَهُ جانِبٌ وافٍ وَآخَرُ أَكشَمُ

لَهُ جانِبٌ وافٍ وَآخَرُ أَكشَمُ

A youth to whom baseness came from his maternal uncle’s side;

A boy came to him, gloom from his uncle's side,

One side of him is whole, and the other maimed.

One cheek full, the other hollow.
