صلاة اللَه تغشى مع رضاه

نبياً حاز مجداً واجتباء

May God's blessing, with His pleasure, envelop

A prophet who attained glory and election,

وآل خصصوا لشفاء داء

وصحب سادة نجم اهتداء

And his family, singled out to heal affliction,

And his companions, masters, a star of guidance.

تحيته الجزيلة مع سلام

على من عم هديا واهتداء

His bountiful salutation, together with peace,

Upon him who spread guidance and right direction.

حبيبٌ قد فاق فاضلٌ رسلا

جميل النعت وصفا واعتلاء

A beloved, virtuous one who surpassed the messengers,

Beautiful in attributes, description, and eminence.

شريفٌ قدُّه كالغصن ميلا

وفيه الحلم طبعاً والسخاء

Noble is his stature, bending like a branch,

And forbearance and generosity are innate in him.

وأجمل منه لم تر عين شخصٍ

حوى الخيرات مع طيب الثناء

And no person's eye has seen one more beautiful than him;

He gathered virtues, along with sweet praise.

وعظمَ خلقه في خير ذكر

إلهٌ باريءٌ مُعطى الرجاء

And his character was extolled in the finest remembrance,

By God, the Creator, the giver of hope:

مليك قادرٌ ربٌّ وحليمٌ

تسبحهُ ملائكة السماء

A sovereign, powerful, a Lord, and forbearing,

Whom the angels of heaven glorify.

تبرع في صفات الفضلِ طراً

ووهباً منه أو ذي نداء

You excel in every quality of excellence,

And a gift from him, or from one who calls.

جميل النعت أخلاقاً وخلقا

فنفسي لذاته حقا فداء

Beautiful in attributes, in character and form,

So my soul is truly a ransom for his person.

وفيمن كان أو سيكون حقاً

فليس لمثله شخصٌ أخاء

And among those who were or will be, truly,

So no person is his peer in brotherhood [wording unclear].

ترى صبح الهدى ينشق عمداً

لغرة وجهه سطع الثناء

You see the dawn of guidance break forth deliberately;

Praise shone for the radiance of his face.

جمالاً مشرقاً وتري كمالا

لبهجة حسنه وترى صفاء

Radiant beauty, and you see perfection,

Through the splendor of his beauty, you see purity too.

تري بدر التمام شهود نور

يلوح وخير هدى والنجاء

You see the full moon, a vision of light

That gleams, and the finest guidance and deliverance.

مبلغ أمر مولانا وهادي

متُمٌّ للعهودِ بذي وفاء

Conveyer of our Lord's command, and a guide,

A fulfiller of covenants, endowed with fidelity.

رسول اللَه أدركني مغيثا

إذا ضرّاءُ مست أو عماء

O Messenger of God, come to me with aid,

When adversity or blindness touches me.

شفيعي في القيام بيوت عرض

مُغيثي سامع مني ندا

My intercessor at the rising, in houses of presentation [wording unclear],

My rescuer, hearing a call from me.

فقربك في عظيم الخطب أرجو

بيوم الحشر بل تحت اللواء

So I hope for your nearness in the great ordeal,

On the Day of Gathering—rather, beneath the banner.

فليس أخيب اذ أنتم غياث

وأنتم سادتي أنتم هداء

So I shall not be disappointed, since you are succor;

And you are my masters; you are guides.

نبيٌّ عاليَ المنهاج يسمو

على فلك العلا حقاً لراء

A prophet whose path is lofty, who rises

Above the sphere of loftiness—truly, for the beholder.

ووجه مسفر أضحي فريداً

يفوق بضوءه بدر السمام

And a radiant face has become peerless,

Its light surpasses the full moon of the sky [probable reading].

عسي أني أزره فليت شعري

أشمُّ الترب من روحي شفاء

May I visit him—if only I knew!

I smell the dust, a cure for my soul [wording unclear].

فزورة عين ذا سعدي وحظي

ونيلٌ للمفاخر والرجاء

So a visit in person—this is my happiness and fortune,

And attainment of honors and the fulfillment of hope.

فروحي قد أقدمها فداءً

فبلغني العلا وأجب دعاء

So my soul—I indeed offer it as a ransom;

So bring me to the heights, and answer my prayer.

فانك ذخريَ الأوفى وعوني

على مرِّ الزمان وفي الرخاء

For you are my most faithful treasure and my aid,

Through the passage of time and in ease.

فثبتني دواماً أنفُ نهجاً

مدي المحيا وفي الأخرى سواء

So keep me ever steadfast—[unclear word]—on a path,

Throughout life and in the Hereafter alike,

أنا والصحب والاخوان طراً

على الآثار سيرا واقتفاء

I, the companions, and the brethren, all,

Walking in the footsteps and following them.

وفتحا من لدنك تريني سرعا

ومن كاس الهنا أرجو ارتواء

And may you swiftly show me an opening from your presence,

And from the cup of joy I hope to drink my fill.

وصلى اللَه رحمن على من

حباه اللَه مجداً واجتباء

And may God, the All-Merciful, bless him whom

God endowed with glory and election:

مشفعُ شافعٌ ولنا شفيعٌ

وآلِ صحبه نجمُ اهتداء

One whose intercession is accepted, an intercessor, and an intercessor for us,

And the family of his companions, a star of guidance,

متى ما غرَّدت في غصن بانٍ

حمام بين شعبٍ واللواء

Whenever there is warbling on a bān branch

By doves between a ravine and the banner,

ومهما هاشم يأتي صلاةً

بنظم عند ختم وابتداء

And whenever Hashim offers a blessing

In verse, at the close and at the beginning.
