1. صلاة اللَه تغشي كل وقت

    نبياً جاءنا بالبينات

    May God's blessing enfold, at every moment,

    a Prophet who came to us with clear proofs.

  2. وأزكاها التحية مع سلام

    عليه وآله سفن النجات

    And the purest greeting, together with peace,

    be upon him and his family, the ships of salvation.

  3. وأصحاب جهابذة كرام

    ومتصفين حقاً بالنهات

    And companions of penetrating insight and noble character,

    and truly characterized by [unclear term].

  4. أقاموا الدين بل وسبيل هدى

    وأسد في الوغا غررٌ ثقات

    They upheld the faith, and indeed a path of guidance,

    and were lions in battle, illustrious and trustworthy.

  5. ألم يكف لظبيِ البان هجر

    ألم يسمع بوصل منه يات

    Has estrangement not sufficed for the bān-tree gazelle?

    Has he not heard of union coming from him?

  6. إلى أهل الصفا بالظعن عرِّج

    لكي تشفي نفوساً شايقات

    With the caravan, turn toward the people of purity,

    so that you may heal yearning souls.

  7. نبيٌّ حاز خير النعت وصفاً

    وأحسن ما روى عنه الرواة

    A Prophet endowed with the finest qualities,

    and the best of what narrators related about him:

  8. هدىً وندىً واحسانا وفيضاً

    ونهىٌ ثم أمرٌ والعظات

    guidance, generosity, kindness, and overflowing bounty,

    and prohibition, then command, and admonitions.

  9. ووجه ساد مخجل بدرَ تِم

    رسول اللَه كاملٌ وصفاً وذات

    And a face that excels, putting the full moon to shame.

    God's Messenger, perfect in attributes and essence.

  10. يريك الهدى من مشكاة ذات

    وفاق بحسن خلق والصفات

    He shows you guidance from the lamp-niche of his being,

    and excels in fine character and attributes.

  11. تجلى في الليال ففاق بدراً

    وكم آي تراها ساطعات

    He shone through the nights and outshone a full moon.

    And how many signs you see shining brightly!

  12. بخدٍّ أبيض قد حاز ورداً

    بوجنته سبا عقلَ الكمات

    With a white cheek bearing roses,

    he captivated the warriors' minds with his cheek.

  13. حوي من تلك خيرات حسان

    وحاز للفضل والنصر الثبات

    From those he gathered beautiful blessings,

    and attained steadfastness in excellence and victory.

  14. فذاك مُبرَّأ من كل نقص

    وخصَّ من العلا بالمكرمات

    Thus he is free from every flaw,

    and was singled out for the honors of exalted rank.

  15. فكم أغنى بجودٍ ذا افتقار

    اذا في بابه وقف العفات

    How many needy people he enriched through generosity,

    when petitioners stood at his door.

  16. عليه اللَه أثنى في كتاب

    وعظَّم خلقه بين الهدات

    God praised him in His Book,

    and exalted his character among the guides.

  17. عليك معولي في كل حال

    فأنتم بغيتي أنتم نجات

    On you I rely in every circumstance.

    For you are my desire; you are salvation.

  18. عسى فتحاً قريباً لي أرُمه

    ونَيلاً من فيوض مُهنئات

    May the opening I seek soon be mine,

    and a share of gladdening outpourings,

  19. وشرباً سائغاً وافٍ وشاف

    كؤوسٌ تلك ليس مكدرات

    and a pleasant draught, ample and healing.

    Those cups are not clouded.

  20. على حسن الختام أُرَج موتا

    وسعداً في الحياة وفي الممات

    I hope for death with a good ending,

    and felicity in life and in death.

  21. وأرجو منك لي أمناً وحفظاً

    وصفحاً مَنك في ماض وآت

    And I hope you grant me safety and protection,

    and pardon from you for what is past and what is to come.

  22. يكون ملازماً صحبي وذات

    وفوزاً ثم محوا لسيآت

    May it remain with my companions and myself,

    and triumph, then the erasure of misdeeds.

  23. وصلى اللَه ربي كل وقت

    عليك وآلك الصحب الثقات

    And may God, my Lord, send blessings at every moment

    upon you, your family, and the trustworthy companions,

  24. متى ما غردت ليلاً سحيراً

    حماقة فوق أغصان النبات

    whenever, in the night before dawn, there sings

    folly [as written] above the branches of plants;

  25. متى ما هاشم قد قال مدحاً

    رويداً حاديَ الظعن المشاة

    whenever Hashim has spoken praise:

    Gently, O caravan-driver, with those on foot.
