أعل مقام وليك الرباني

God, God, God.

Raise the station of Your godly saint.

رضوان مولى الجود والاحسان

يغشي الانام المرشد الثقلان

The favor of the Lord of bounty and beneficence

is spread over creation by the guide of humans and jinn.

نجل الغياث المستغاث به الذي

لازال في النكبات غوث العان

A son of the succorer whose aid is sought, who

is ever the afflicted one's aid in calamities.

بحر الحقيقة روض علم اللَه من

في حضرة الاجلال فرد الشان

An ocean of truth, a garden of the knowledge of God, one who

in the presence of majesty stands peerless in stature.

برق السنا من ضياه اضاءت ال

أكوان سبط المنتقى العدنان

A flash of splendor: from his light shone the

worlds—a descendant of the chosen Adnanite.

بدر الهدي للمهتدين وبالندى

عن خلق ربي مزجر النيران

A full moon of guidance for the rightly guided, and through generosity

a warder of fires away from my Lord's creatures.

مفتاح جنات لهم عند انسكا

ب الدمع كالهتان بالأجفان

A key to gardens for them when there is an outpouring

of tears, like pouring rain upon the eyelids.

طود المعالي قدوة الفضلا الذي

لازال في حي العلا فردان

A mountain of eminence, an exemplar for the virtuous, who

is ever peerless in the abode of loftiness.

بطل الوغى من في معاني مجده

حارت أولا الالباب والاذهان

A hero of battle, before the meanings of whose glory

intellects and minds were bewildered from the first.

مستودع البركات نعم مقدس

عن أن يضاهي في علا بالثان

A repository of blessings, indeed sanctified

above being matched in eminence by another.

هو روضة الأمل المرجى منة

هو للخليفة تحفة المنان

He is the garden of cherished hope, a boon.

He is a gift from the Bestower to the caliph.

هو غيث مرحمة يعمم جميعنا

هتانه كل الورى ريان

He is a rain of mercy that embraces all of us,

his downpour leaving all creation refreshed.

هو مزن فيض أحل من منٍّ وسل

وى للورى كافي كلا الداران

He is a cloud of overflowing bounty, bringing manna and

quails to creation, sufficient for both abodes.

هو رحمة اللَه التي رحمت بها

كل الخلائق انسها والجهان

He is God's mercy, through which mercy was shown to

all creatures, their humans and their jinn.

هو صورة بشرية ممزوجة

بمكارم الأخلاق والاحسان

He is a human form blended

with noble character and beneficence.

هو من به اخضر الوجود حقيقة

هو أصل منشي الخلق والاكوان

He is the one through whom existence truly grew green.

He is the source that brings forth creation and the worlds.

هو في الملاحم ضيغم يخشونه

ومشتت المجموع في الميدان

He is a lion in fierce battles, whom they fear,

and a scatterer of the assembled host on the battlefield.

هو هازم الأقران في وثباته

كالليث في آجامه ايقان

He routs his rivals in his leaps,

like a lion in his thickets, beyond doubt.

هو بالسفينة والوقار معمم

ومدملج بملابس العرفان

He is turbaned with the ship and with dignity,

and adorned with armlets in robes of spiritual knowledge.

والمجد والعز المكين رداؤه

من سمته تتزين الكونان

Glory and steadfast might are his mantle.

His bearing adorns the two worlds.

ذو سطوة عظمى لمن فينا غوى

وأخو السماحة ان اساء الجاني

He wields mighty power against those among us who stray,

yet possesses clemency when the offender does wrong.

فخزائن المولى غدا مأمونها

هو مالك الملك العلا والداني

Thus he has become the trusted keeper of the Lord's treasures.

He is master of dominion, both high and low.

والكون شكل وهو روح حياته

بل بهجة الاعصار والازمان

The cosmos is a form, and he is the spirit of its life,

rather, the delight of ages and times.

فلك النجاة لغارق وسفينة

مشحونة بمكارم الرحمن

An ark of salvation for the drowning, and a ship

laden with the Merciful One's generous gifts.

مفتاح كل دقيقة وثقيلة

حاوي علوم السر والاعلان

The key to every subtle and weighty matter,

encompassing knowledge of the hidden and the manifest.

شمس بلا طفل وبدر ضوؤه

جالي ظلام الشرك بالايمان

A sun without dusk, and a full moon whose light

dispels the darkness of polytheism through faith.

بعبادة المولى فريد أوانه

محيي الدجا بتلاوة القرآن

Peerless in his age in worship of the Lord,

bringing the dark night to life by reciting the Qur'an.

من خشية المولى تراه كالهبا

في كل حال باكي العينان

From fear of the Lord, you see him like dust motes,

in every state, his two eyes weeping.

من قبل منشاه أقر بفضله

أهل التقى مثل الولي الجيلان

Before his advent, his excellence was acknowledged

by the devout, like the saint al-Jilani.

قسمي بطه المصطفى وببنته

وبحيدر وابنيهما السبطان

My oath is by Taha, the Chosen One, and by his daughter,

and by Haydar and their two sons, the two grandsons.

يا من له خلق عظيم كالصبا

وطبيعة فانت ريا الريحان

O you whose noble character is like the east wind,

and such a nature—you are the fragrance of basil.

يا من علاها م السماك علاه من

لك رتبة تسمو على الكونان

O you whose loftiness surpasses the crown of al-Simak, you

who have a rank that rises above the two worlds.

يا من به ثمر المحامد يجتني

يا سيدي يا هاشم البطلان

O you through whom the fruit of praiseworthy deeds is gathered,

O my master, O Hashim, the champion,

أجب الذي من بعده ناداكم

وانشله من نصب ومن أحزان

answer the one who called to you from afar,

and rescue him from toil and sorrows.

لازلت تنقذ من بحرزك محتمى

من كل شر منشل اللهفان

May you ever save whoever shelters in your protection

from every evil, O rescuer of the distressed.

أنت المعد بمثلها يا من به ال

دين الحنيف مشيد الاركان

You are prepared for such deeds, O you through whom the

upright faith has its pillars firmly raised.

منى عليك سلام رب العرش ما

خلعت عليك ملابس العرفان

From me, the peace of the Lord of the Throne be upon you, as long as

robes of spiritual knowledge are bestowed upon you.

ثم الصلاة مع السلام على الذي

صلى عليه اللَه في التبيان

Then blessings, together with peace, upon him

whom God blessed in the clear exposition,

الآل والاصحاب والانصار ما

سجعت حمام فوق غصن البان

and upon his family, companions, and helpers, as long as

doves coo above a bough of the ban-tree,

أو ما ترنم في علاك محمد

فغدا حليف الوجد والاشجان

or as long as Muhammad sings of your loftiness,

and thus becomes a companion of ecstatic longing and sorrows.
