Safety lies only in Allah. O grant us peace!

Whoever deceives himself along with the wicked,
Whose daring we have never known in a lion?
We never knew cowardice in his resolve.

Deep within hearts they built love for him.

Serving wine with shapely fingers.
He poured wine smoothly.

A house with a goblet sketches the cosmos
To show us its order between his hands.
To show us, between the hands, its system.

So each reveler walked in the morning
With the solar system visible before him.
With the solar system his imam.

On him in drinking, for therein lies darkness.

Intending good, to man, cream of the vultures.
