1. طابَ حَظٌّ بَدا بِعودِ الدَريني

    وَالهَنا لاحَ فَوقَ كُلِّ جَبينِ

    Sweet fortune dawned with al-Darini's return,

    And happiness shone above every brow.

  2. فَقَضى حَجَّهُ وَساقَ المَطايا

    نَحوَ روحِ الوُجودِ خَيرُ أَمينِ

    He completed his pilgrimage and drove the mounts

    Toward the soul of existence, the best of the trustworthy:

  3. البَشيرُ النَذيرُ يَس طَهَ

    خاتَمُ الرُسُلِ ذي المَقامِ المَكينِ

    The bearer of glad tidings, the warner, Ya-Sin, Ta-Ha,

    The seal of the messengers, whose station is firmly established.

  4. فضتَملي بِزَورَةٍ تَعدِلُ العُم

    رَ وَتَشفى لِكُلِّ داءٍ دَفينِ

    So he delighted in a visit that equals a life-

    time, and heals every hidden ailment.

  5. زَورَةً إِنَّها لِتَنتَزِعَ الشِع

    رَ كَما قيلَ مِن فُؤادِ الحَزينِ

    A visit that truly draws forth poet-

    ry, as was said, from the sorrowful heart.

  6. فازَ مِنها بِعَطفَةٍ وَقُبولِ

    وَضَمانٌ مِن فَيضٍ أَقوى ضَمينِ

    From it he gained kindness and acceptance,

    And a guarantee from the bounty of the strongest guarantor.

  7. وَهوَ أَحرى بِما حَظِيَهُ لِعُمري

    لِكَمالِ العُلا وَحُسنُ اليَقينِ

    And he is all the more worthy of what he attained, by my life,

    For his perfect eminence and sound conviction.

  8. لَيسَ في الناسِ جاهِلٌ لِسَناهُ

    وَهوَ بادٍ بِمُنتَهى التَحسينِ

    No one among the people is unaware of his radiance,

    And it is plain to see in its utmost beauty.

  9. الرِضا حازَهُ بِلُطفِ خِصالِ

    وَالثَنا نالَهُ بِعِلمٍ وَدينِ

    He gained approval through his gentle qualities,

    And earned praise through learning and faith.

  10. عادَ فينا وَالبَشَرُ بَينَ يَدَيهِ

    عَن يَسارٍ بِهِ وَيَمينِ

    He returned among us, with people before him,

    Around him, to his left and right.

  11. يَزدَهي الوَجهُ بِالصَفا وَعَلَيهِ

    يَتَجَلّى المُنى لِكُلِّ خَدَّينِ

    His face gleams with serenity, and upon it

    Hopes shine forth on both cheeks.

  12. فَاِجتَنى حُلوُ أُنسِهِ مِن رَجَوهُ

    وَاِغتَنى فَقَرَّهُم بِعودٍ ثَمينِ

    So those who hoped for him reaped the sweetness of his company,

    And their poverty grew rich through a precious return.

  13. وَمَثاني السُرورِ قَد أَرخَتهُ

    طابَ حَظٌّ بَدا يَعودُ الدَريني

    And refrains of joy have recorded its date:

    Sweet fortune dawned: al-Darini returns.

  14. رُبِّ فَاِحفَظ لَنا بَقاهُ وَمَتِّع

    هُ بِمالٍ مُبارَكٍ وَبَنينِ

    My Lord, preserve his life for us, and grant

    Him enjoyment of blessed wealth and sons.

  15. وَأَدِمهُ مُعَزِّزاً ذا عَلاءِ

    باذِخُ الفَضلِ بِالكِتابِ المُبينِ

    And sustain him as a source of strength, possessed of eminence,

    Towering in virtue through the clear Book,

  16. كُلَّ يَومٍ مُزَوَّداً بِصَفاءِ

    وَهَناءً عَلى مَمَرِّ السَنينِ

    Every day endowed with serenity

    And happiness through the passing years.
