ما زِلتُ لِلَهِ أَحمَدُ

ما زِلتُ لِلَهِ أَحمَدُ

ما دامَ يَسعَدُ أَحمَدُ

ما دامَ يَسعَدُ أَحمَدُ

I have not ceased offering praise to God

I still praise Allah

As long as Ahmad prospers.

As long as Ahmed is blessed

وَبُغيَتي وَرَجائي

وَبُغيَتي وَرَجائي

أَراهُ أَسنى وَأِسعَدُ

أَراهُ أَسنى وَأِسعَدُ

And my desire and my hope

My aspirations and wants

Are to see him more radiant and happier.

I see them best and most blessed

فَإِنَّهُ لَجَديرٌ

فَإِنَّهُ لَجَديرٌ

بِكُلِّ فَخرٍ وَسودُدُ

بِكُلِّ فَخرٍ وَسودُدُ

For he is indeed worthy

For He is indeed worthy

Of every glory and eminence.

Of every pride and love

كَمالُهُ غَيرُ خافٍ

كَمالُهُ غَيرُ خافٍ

وَفَضلُهُ لَيسَ يَجحَدُ

وَفَضلُهُ لَيسَ يَجحَدُ

His perfection is not hidden,

His perfection has no doubt

And his merit is not denied.

His grace none can shun

فَالإِسمِ وَالفِعلُ خَيري

فَالإِسمِ وَالفِعلُ خَيري

وَالسيرَةُ المِسكُ وَالنَدُ

وَالسيرَةُ المِسكُ وَالنَدُ

So, in name and deed, he is Khayri—goodly;

The name and deed are good

And his conduct is musk and fragrant incense.

Morals pleasant, generosity abounds

وَالخَيرُ مِنهُ قَريبٌ

وَالخَيرُ مِنهُ قَريبٌ

وَالشَرُّ حاشاهُ أَبعَدُ

وَالشَرُّ حاشاهُ أَبعَدُ

And goodness is close to him,

Good from Him is near

And evil—far be it from him—is farther away.

Evil, far removed, He has spurned

وَالصِدقُ فيهِ غَريزي

وَالصِدقُ فيهِ غَريزي

حَديثُهُ فيهِ مُسنَدُ

حَديثُهُ فيهِ مُسنَدُ

And truthfulness is innate in him;

Truth in Him is instinct

His speech is grounded in it.

His words well-evidenced

لِذاكَ قَد عَزَّ قَدراً

لِذاكَ قَد عَزَّ قَدراً

عِندَ العَزيزِ المُمَجَّدِ

عِندَ العَزيزِ المُمَجَّدِ

Thus he has gained high standing

For that, esteem for Him has grown

In the eyes of the mighty, glorified one.

With the Mighty, the Glorious One

فَلَم يَزَل يَصطَفيهِ

فَلَم يَزَل يَصطَفيهِ

وَلا يَزالُ يَعضُدِ

وَلا يَزالُ يَعضُدِ

So he has never ceased to favor him,

He kept choosing him

And continues to support him.

And keeps backing him

وَعِن قَريبٍ نَراهُ

وَعِن قَريبٍ نَراهُ

يَنالُ أَعظَمَ مُسنَدُ

يَنالُ أَعظَمَ مُسنَدُ

And soon we shall see him

And soon we shall see

Attain the highest seat of office.

The greatest station he will attain

يا أَحسَنَ خَلقٍ

يا أَحسَنَ خَلقٍ

عَلَيهِ قَد كادَ يَحسُدُ

عَلَيهِ قَد كادَ يَحسُدُ

O finest of creatures,

O best of creations

For this he has almost been envied.

Upon him many gaze with envy

مَنَحتَ رُتبَةَ مَجدٍ

مَنَحتَ رُتبَةَ مَجدٍ

وَأَصلُها فيكَ يوجَدُ

وَأَصلُها فيكَ يوجَدُ

You have been granted a rank of glory,

You granted him majestic rank

And its root is found within you.

To which he was eternally ordained
