وليand I have ولدٌa son لمnot أَعصِهِI disobey him مُذsince ولدتُهُI begot him
ولاand no شكَّdoubt فيabout بِرِّيmy kindness بهtoward him مُذْsince تَرَعْرَعاhe grew up
I have a son whom I have never disobeyed since I begot him.
I have a son whom I never disobeyed since I begot him
Nor is there any doubt of my kindness toward him since he grew up.
And there is no doubt about my devotion to him since he grew up
تَخَيّرتُهُI chose him للمُلكِfor kingship قبلَbefore فِطامِهِhis weaning
وأقطَعتُهand I granted him الدنياthe world فطيماًas a weanling ومُرضَعاand as a suckling
I chose him for kingship before his weaning,
I chose him for the kingdom before he was weaned
And granted him the world, as a weanling and as a suckling.
And I gave him the world to suckle and nurture
فلاso not المُلكُkingship يخلوis empty باعُهُits reach (arm-span) منof محمدٍMuhammad
ولاnor هُوhe منهof it بلrather هماthe two of them هكذاlike this معاtogether
So kingship's reach is never without Muhammad,
So neither does the kingdom lack Mohammad as a pillar
Nor is he without it; rather, the two are together like this.
Nor does he lack it, rather they are together thus
