وقَدْ حَنكَّتَنْيِ السِّنُّ واشْتَدَّ جاَنِبي

وقَدْ حَنكَّتَنْيِ السِّنُّ واشْتَدَّ جاَنِبي

وَناكَبَنيِ لَهْوُ الغَواني ورَاحُها

وَناكَبَنيِ لَهْوُ الغَواني ورَاحُها

And age has indeed seasoned me, and I have grown strong;

Old age has worn me down and weakened my sides

And the pleasures of beautiful women and their wine have shunned me.

And the frivolousness of youth with all its pastimes has abandoned me
