In you the constellations of high glory shine;
In you, the towers of eminence shine.
for you are the full moon of its heaven and its lamp.
For you are indeed the full moon of its sky and its lamp.

In you the family of the East rejoices, whose crown—
And through you rejoice the thrones of honor, whose
but for you, after your brother—would have been stripped of its adornment.
crown, but for you after your brother, would lie unadorned.

You both came forward, racing one another toward a goal
You both came forward, racing toward a goal
whose path admitted none but you two.
whose path was open to none but you two.

He outstripped all humankind toward it, and you followed close behind;
He outstripped humankind toward it, and you came a close second,
while its hosts came all together, striking their faces in grief.
while its throngs came jostling together.

Until the feet of you both stood together upon a summit
Until your feet stood level together upon a summit
of glory whose ascent was beyond humankind.
of glory whose ascent was too difficult for humankind.

He is honor’s chosen one—the man whom, after his brother,
He is honor's Mustafa, after whom
I found the noblest of all in whom honor makes its home.
it found him the noblest of those to whom it turns.

You are he from whose character humankind has sipped
You are he from whose character humankind has sipped
a wine whose blend is sweeter than pure nectar.
wine whose blend is sweeter than pure wine.

Never did the world fall ill with the malady of its barrenness
Never has the world sickened with the blight of its droughts
but your presence was its medicine and its cure.
but your generosity has been its medicine and its cure.

Indeed, you protected and sustained generosity, whose—
And indeed you protected generosity—a girl buried alive—whose
but for you—life-veins would not have remained intact.
jugular veins, but for you, would not have been spared.

High glory wove for you the garments of its pride,
High honor has woven for you the garments of its pride,
and its embroidered brocade shone proudly upon you.
so its embroidered brocade gleamed upon you.

Never did a night-traveling caravan urge its mounts onward in longing
No longing ever urged the night-traveling camels onward
unless its nocturnal journey was toward your dwelling.
but their night journey was bound for your abode.

Mother Hope never visited a hopeful soul by night
Never did the mother of hope give birth for one who hoped,
but by morning her offspring was born of your bounty.
but by morning her offspring came from your bounty.
