If a gravedigger shrouds the lamp of noble deeds,
If the torch of virtues is extinguished,
then lamps have indeed shone in his exalted glory.
Then lights have illuminated its heights.

Circle where he rests, for there is dazzling generosity,
Roam wherever virtue has settled,
and deep-rooted eminence and weighty glory.
For there is abundant generosity and prominent glory.

A king of lofty honor is borne to his grave,
A king whom exalted honor escorts,
and even noble deeds are mourners over him.
And to whom even the most generous weep.

شكت البريَّة داءه لمَّا شكا

فقضى وأُلحد والقلوب ضرائح
Creation lamented his illness when he complained;
The land complained of his absence when he complained,
then he died and was buried, while hearts were tombs.
So he passed and was buried while hearts grieved.

He whose neighbor is Hud called upon him; so they marked the date:
Hud, his neighbor, called him, so they found relief.
Gladden this neighborhood of yours, Muhammad Salih.
O Muhammad, may your blessed neighborhood be joyful.
