Tell the physician to whom wounds bow:
Say to the doctor whom wounds afflict
What have you prepared for the suffering lover’s wound?
What remedy have you for the lover's hurt?

His lancet had been—while the wound gazed at it—
His lancet was my love's hand, and the sore
the beloved’s right hand, soothing a lovesick man’s breast.
My love's breath on my breast would fain assuage.
