أَيا يَداً قَد خَصَّها رَبُّها

أَيا يَداً قَد خَصَّها رَبُّها

بِآيَةِ الإِعجازِ في الخَلقِ

بِآيَةِ الإِعجازِ في الخَلقِ

O hand, singled out by its Lord

O hand that its Lord has singled out

with a sign of miraculous power in its creation,

with a sign of miraculous power in creation,

وَمِشرَطاً جُمِّعَ مِن رَحمَةٍ

وَمِشرَطاً جُمِّعَ مِن رَحمَةٍ

وَصيغَ مِن يُمنٍ وَمِن رِفقِ

وَصيغَ مِن يُمنٍ وَمِن رِفقِ

and your two scalpels were formed from mercy,

and scalpel, fashioned from mercy,

and fashioned from your blessing and gentleness.

and shaped from good fortune and gentleness:

نَجَّيتُما مِن مَرَضٍ قاتِلٍ

نَجَّيتُما مِن مَرَضٍ قاتِلٍ

مَطلَعَ آمالِ بَني الشَرقِ

مَطلَعَ آمالِ بَني الشَرقِ

You two delivered from a deadly illness

You two saved from a deadly illness

the dawning hope of the sons of the East.

the dawn of the hopes of the sons of the East.

لَولاكُما لَاِندَكَّ صَرحُ العُلا

لَولاكُما لَاِندَكَّ صَرحُ العُلا

وَاِنحَدَرَ البَدرُ عَنِ الأُفقِ

وَاِنحَدَرَ البَدرُ عَنِ الأُفقِ

Had it not been for you both, the edifice of glory would have crumbled,

But for you two, the edifice of glory would have crumbled,

and the full moon would have fallen from the horizon,

and the full moon would have sunk below the horizon,

وَباتَتِ الأَخلاقُ في حَسرَةٍ

وَباتَتِ الأَخلاقُ في حَسرَةٍ

عَلى نَبيلِ النَفسِ وَالخُلقِ

عَلى نَبيلِ النَفسِ وَالخُلقِ

and virtue would have spent the night in grief

and virtue would have spent the night in grief

for one noble in soul and character.

صانَكُما اللَهُ لِبُرءِ الوَرى

صانَكُما اللَهُ لِبُرءِ الوَرى

وَصانَهُ لِلعُرفِ وَالحَقِّ

وَصانَهُ لِلعُرفِ وَالحَقِّ

May God preserve you both to heal humankind,

May God preserve you both for the healing of humankind,

and preserve him for beneficence and truth.
