يُسَرُّ العالم العلوي

يُسَرُّ العالم العلوي

ي والسفلي ذو الخفضِ

ي والسفلي ذو الخفضِ

The heavenly world rejoices,

The upper world rejoices

and the low-lying world below;

And the lower world of humility

ويُرضي ثم يسترضي

ويُرضي ثم يسترضي

فيرضى البعضُ عن بعض

فيرضى البعضُ عن بعض

it gives delight, then seeks to appease,

Satisfies, then reconciles

so each is pleased with the other.

Thus some are pleased with others

ويملأ مريماً شرفاً

ويملأ مريماً شرفاً

بملء الطول والعرض

بملء الطول والعرض

And it fills Mary with honor,

And Mary is filled with honor

in the full measure of length and breadth,

With the fullness of height and width

بمولدها الذي أدى

بمولدها الذي أدى

لنا فرضاً عن الفرض

لنا فرضاً عن الفرض

through her birth, which fulfilled

With her birth that fulfilled

for us one duty in place of the other.

For us an obligation beyond obligation

يبشرنا بأنَّ يسو

يبشرنا بأنَّ يسو

ع منها يأتي يَسترضي

ع منها يأتي يَسترضي

It brings us glad tidings that Jesus

It gives us good tidings that Jesus

will come from her, seeking to appease,

Will come from her to reconcile

عياناً إذ جنت حوّا

عياناً إذ جنت حوّا

لآدم وهو في الأرض

لآدم وهو في الأرض

in plain sight, since Eve had brought harm

Openly when Eve erred

to Adam while he was on earth.

Around Adam while on earth

فما أهناه من عدلٍ

فما أهناه من عدلٍ

وفَى عن ذلكَ القرض

وفَى عن ذلكَ القرض

How welcome a recompense it is,

So what fairness He brought

that has repaid that debt!

And repaid that debt
