إذا تديَّرتَ ديراً تحتَ رهبنةٍ

إذا تديَّرتَ ديراً تحتَ رهبنةٍ

وشِمتَ أنك مفترٌّ لتنتقلا

وشِمتَ أنك مفترٌّ لتنتقلا

If you settle in a monastery under a monastic rule,

If you join a monastery under some pretense

and sense that your zeal is flagging, seeking to move elsewhere,

And think you have fooled them so you can move on

فاعرف رضا اللَه في سُكناك فيه لذا

فاعرف رضا اللَه في سُكناك فيه لذا

يُغويك إبليس كي تَغوَى فترتحلا

يُغويك إبليس كي تَغوَى فترتحلا

then know that God is pleased with your dwelling there; that is why

Know that it's God's will you dwell there, so

Iblis tempts you to go astray and then depart.

The devil tempts you to wander and be gone
