is more virtuous or more faithful than you, O Harith son of Zalim,

اعز وأحمى عند جارٍ وذمةٍ

واضربَ في كابٍ من النقع قاتمِ

mightier or more protective of neighbor and covenant,

or harder-hitting amid a dark, billowing cloud of battle dust.
