Do not wail loudly over my bed,
Rather, let me sleep my eyelids' fill.
But let me sleep with eyes full.

The blasts of frost chill my breast,
The breaths of winter chill my chest,
And autumn's panting moistens my brow.
And the panting of autumn makes my forehead sweat.

It is the right of existence, do not wake me.

And mourn me in silence—the most heartrending lament:
Mourn me in silence, with the most heartrending weeping,
An anguish that rasped in a sorrowful heart,
Sorrow has boiled in a sad heart.

It burned its melody and made its echo harsh,
And became braziers of longing.
And turned into embers of yearning.

This is how I used to feed my love to myself,
And sing of languor, and conceal my moaning.
And sing of sorrow and hide my moaning.

The stillness of death is a delight to my imagination,
The calm of death is a pleasure to my imagination,
And a release for my youthful longing and my fancies.
And freedom for my youth and thoughts.

It is the secret of immortality after demise.

Indeed, the verse I sang in my youth
If I sang poetry in my youth,
Is for love, for fragrance, for enchantment.
It was for love, for ecstasy, for infatuation.
