We handle the reins on the day when war is ablaze.
On the day of battle, our light swords suffice,
And Ibn al-Maragha is beaten behind the donkey.
And the son of Maragha lies struck behind the caravan.

Ours are the branches that cannot be matched
Among us are branches that none can equal -
by any glory; your share lies among those hocks.
Glory and your fate amid those hardships!

O Ibn al-Maragha, God has indeed placed me
O son of Maragha! God has sent me
where the fair, noble-born met upon the heights.
Where amid the dust met the whites of unsheathed swords.
