أَقامَت ثَلاثاً تَبتَغي الصُلحَ نَهشَلٌ
بِبَقعاءَat Baqʿāʾ تَنزوleap فيin المَرايِرِthe tightly twisted tethers نيبُهاits old she-camels
بِبَقعاءَ تَنزو في المَرايِرِ نيبُها
Nahshal stayed three nights, seeking peace,
at Baqʿāʾ, its old she-camels leaping in tightly twisted tethers.
تَضِجُّclamors إِلىfor صُلحِpeace with العَشيرَةِthe clan نَهشَلٌNahshal
تَضِجُّ إِلى صُلحِ العَشيرَةِ نَهشَلٌ
ضَجيجَthe cries of الحَبالىpregnant women أَوجَعَتهاcaused them pain عُجوبُهاtheir tailbones
ضَجيجَ الحَبالى أَوجَعَتها عُجوبُها
Nahshal clamors for peace with the clan,
like pregnant women crying out when their tailbones hurt them.
