لَحى اللَهُ قَوماً شارَكوا في دِمائِنا

لَحى اللَهُ قَوماً شارَكوا في دِمائِنا

وَكُنّا لَهُم عَوناً عَلى العَثَراتِ

وَكُنّا لَهُم عَوناً عَلى العَثَراتِ

May God curse a people who took part in shedding our blood.

And we had been their support when they stumbled.

And we were to them a support in stumbling

فَجاهَرَنا ذو الغُشِّ عَمروُ بنُ مُسلِمٍ

وَأَوقَدَ ناراً صاحِبُ البَكَراتِ

Then the deceitful ʿAmr ibn Muslim openly confronted us,
