Listen, you who bar my she-camel from the watering place,

and her rider—direct your right hand toward sound judgment.

So which of the hands gathered there at the watering place

do you fear might have us shorn at the watering place?

Is it Ibn Laylā’s palm, or an ʿĀmirite hand,

or the hands of Banū Saʿd, surpassing all others?
