إِنif تُنصِفوناyou treat us fairly ياO لَمَروانَclan of Marwan نَقتَرِبwe draw near
إِلَيكُمto you وَإِلّاand if not فَأذَنواthen know بِبِعادِof departure
If you treat us fairly, O clan of Marwan, we shall draw near
To you; otherwise, know that we shall depart.
فَإِنَّfor indeed لَناwe have عَنكُمaway from you مَراحاًroom to roam وَمَذهَباًand somewhere to go
بِعيسٍon pale camels إِلىtoward ريحِthe wind of الفَلاةِthe desert صَواديcraning eagerly
For away from you we have room to roam and somewhere to go,
On pale camels straining toward the desert wind,
مُخَيَّسَةٍtamed بُزلٍmature تَخايَلُstrutting فيin البُرىthe nose-rings
سَوارٍtraveling by night عَلىacross طولِthe length of الفَلاةِthe desert غَواديtraveling at dawn
Tamed and mature, strutting in their nose-rings,
Traveling by night and at dawn across the desert’s length.
وَفيand on الأَرضِthe earth عَنaway from ذيone possessed of الجورِinjustice مَنأىa refuge وَمَذهَبٌand somewhere to go
وَكُلُّand every بِلادٍland أَوطَنَتكَgives you a home بِلاديmy land
And on earth there is refuge from the unjust, and somewhere to go;
And every land that gives you a home is my land.
