أَظُنُّI think رِجالَmen الدِرهَمَينِthe two dirhams تَسوقُهُمdrive them
أَظُنُّ رِجالَ الدِرهَمَينِ تَسوقُهُم
إِلىtoward قَدَرٍa fate آجالُهُمtheir allotted lifespans وَمَصارِعُand places of death
إِلى قَدَرٍ آجالُهُم وَمَصارِعُ
I think the men of the two dirhams are driven
I think the two-dirham men are led
Toward fate by their allotted lifespans and places of death.
To a fate their terms set and their demise.
وَأَحزَمُهُمand the most prudent of them مَنthe one who قَرَّstayed فيin قَعرِthe depths of بَيتِهِhis house
وَأَحزَمُهُم مَن قَرَّ في قَعرِ بَيتِهِ
وَأَيقَنَand was certain أَنَّthat العَزمَresolve لاno بُدَّescape واقِعُcoming to pass
وَأَيقَنَ أَنَّ العَزمَ لا بُدَّ واقِعُ
And the most prudent of them is he who stays in the depths of his house
And the one most prudent keeps close to his house,
And is certain that resolve must inevitably come to pass.
Sure that what is willed shall come to pass.
