أَوانِسُ مِثلُ آرامِ الصَريمِ
Dwellings at al-Ujayfir, where once dwelt
The abodes in Al Ujayfir, wherein
Maidens like the gazelles of the sandy tract.
Were companions like the serenity of meadows,

And no one rivals me in boasting
And none would vie with me in pride
When the seas of Banu Tamim surge
When the seas of Banu Tamim would surge,

Toward those of choicest fathers and maternal uncles,
To the pretentious, father and uncle,
When true stock is traced back to pure stock.
When the vile is attributed to the valiant,

You see the thick-necked bull camels submissive before us
You see the submission of warriors to us,
When my noble camel sires rise to vie for glory.
When my warriors rise up against any braggart.
