لَعَمريby my life لَئِنif indeed كانَتhad مُحَوَّلَةُMuhawwalah اِشتَرَتpurchased
لَعَمري لَئِن كانَت مُحَوَّلَةُ اِشتَرَت
سِبابِيَabuse of me ماnot آبَتreturned بِخَيرٍwith any good تِجارُهاher traders
سِبابِيَ ما آبَت بِخَيرٍ تِجارُها
By my life, if Muhawwalah has purchased
abuse of me, her traders have returned with no gain.
نَفَتهُمdrove them out بَنيsons of ذُبيانَDhubyan عَنfrom عُقرِheart of دارِهِمtheir homeland
نَفَتهُم بَني ذُبيانَ عَن عُقرِ دارِهِم
بِمَنزِلَةِinto a place of الذُلِّhumiliation الطَويلِlasting صِغارُهاher young ones
بِمَنزِلَةِ الذُلِّ الطَويلِ صِغارُها
The sons of Dhubyan were driven from the heart of their homeland
by her young, into a place of lasting humiliation.
