إِمامٌ مِنهُمُ لِلناسِ فيهِم

إِمامٌ مِنهُمُ لِلناسِ فيهِم

أَقَمتَ المَيلَ فَاِعتَدَلَ اِعتِدالا

أَقَمتَ المَيلَ فَاِعتَدَلَ اِعتِدالا

An imam from among them, for the people in their midst,

A leader among them for the people with them

You straightened the crookedness, and it became perfectly straight.

You straightened the inclination so it became upright

عَمِلتَ بِسُنَّةِ الفاروقِ فيهِم

عَمِلتَ بِسُنَّةِ الفاروقِ فيهِم

وَمِن عُثمانَ كُنتَ لَهُم مِثالا

وَمِن عُثمانَ كُنتَ لَهُم مِثالا

You followed al-Faruq's practice among them,

You acted with the tradition of Al-Farooq among them

And you were for them a likeness of Uthman.

And from Uthman you were an example for them

وَأُمِّ ثَلاثَةٍ مَعَها ثَلاثٌ

وَأُمِّ ثَلاثَةٍ مَعَها ثَلاثٌ

كَأَنَّ بِأُمِّهِم وَبِهِم سُلالا

كَأَنَّ بِأُمِّهِم وَبِهِم سُلالا

And a mother of three, with three beside her,

And a mother of three, with her three

As though their mother and they had a wasting sickness.

As if in their mother and them a lineage

فَتَحتَ لَهُم بِإِذنِ اللَهِ رَوحاً

فَتَحتَ لَهُم بِإِذنِ اللَهِ رَوحاً

وَلا يَسطيعُ كَيدُهُمُ اِحتِيالا

وَلا يَسطيعُ كَيدُهُمُ اِحتِيالا

You opened up relief for them, by God's leave,

You opened for them by the permission of Allah a relief

And their ingenuity can devise no expedient.

And their evil scheme cannot manage deceit
