O cupbearer, my hearing has turned away from my sight
On the black night of Safar.
On the pitch black night of autumn

The injustice of divine decree and the cruelty of fate.
The injustice of fate and the cruelty of destiny

And I forced it down in anguish
Upon the sands, and spent the night in Saqar.
Above the sands, and spent the night in hell
