وَرَأى الغَداةَ مِنَ الفِراقِ يَقينا
I was not the first whose company was scattered,
I was not the first whose tribe was scattered,
And who saw that morning the certainty of parting.
And who faced the morn certain of parting,
وَبَدارَةِand at Dārat السَلَمِal-Salam (acacias) الَّتيwhich شُوِّقتُهاI was made to yearn for it

دِمِنٌ يَظَلُّ حَمامُها يَبكينا
And at Dārat al-Salam, for which I was made to yearn,
While the farewells, for which I yearned,
Lie camp remains whose doves keep weeping for us.
Were weeping, like a dove, without ceasing.
