    The earth was flooded with the lights of prophethood

    By a star whose height the sun could not attain.

    Scarcely had it begun to shine when

    The world and all within it began awaiting its approach.

    While the universe lay in pitch-black darkness,

    A window for light was opened in Mecca.

    And Islam surged, an overflowing sea,

    With waves of lofty virtues and chivalry.

    Whoever saw the Bedouins in their leap

    Knew the sea and was not ignorant of its surge.

    إنَّ فِي  الإِسْلاَمِ  لِلنَّاسِ  أُخُوَّةْ

    Indeed, in Islam there is eminence for the Arabs;

    Indeed, in Islam there is brotherhood for humankind.

    So study Islam, you who are ignorant of it:

    You will find in it God's stern might and His tenderness.

    O Messenger of God, we are a nation

    Thrust by deception into the deepest abyss.

    That ignorance which you fought

    Still displays its insolence to the East.

     إِنَّمَا الدِّينُ  هُدَىً  وِالْعِلْمُ  قُوَّةْ

    Tell your followers: Pray and study;

    Religion is but guidance, and knowledge is power.
