هلك الشقاء مقدماً ومسبقاً

وأبو دعيبٍ نال حتفاً ملحقا

Misery perished first, ahead of the rest;

They perished in grief, one after another

And Abu Duʿayb met death in turn;

Abu Da'ib met his death thereafter

وحماد يوسف ثالثٌ لهما فقل

وحماد يوسف ثالثٌ لهما فقل

أجلٌ قريبٌ نالهم متطرقا

أجلٌ قريبٌ نالهم متطرقا

And Hammad Yusuf was their third—so say:

And Hammad Yusuf third of them

An imminent death approached and overtook them.

Met his quick demise, befalling them

أودوا وبادوا هالكين فارخوا

أودوا وبادوا هالكين فارخوا

رهقوا بموتهم جحيماً محرقا

رهقوا بموتهم جحيماً محرقا

They perished and vanished, destroyed—so record the date:

They perished and were ruined, dying wretched

Through their death they reached a scorching Hell.

Consumed by hellfire, scorching and wretched
