O heart, die—for better and more lasting

for you is a death that shields you from people's evil.

If you are pure, enough for you is what you have

encountered in the world of immense corruption.

What do you hope for, now that you have sensed that

deceit dwells even in Suad's heart?

O my heart, better for my body is a life

that, in its misery, endures without a heart.
